On
our site you’ll regularly find typical recipes of our region. You
can get to know the Valais and its specialities and enjoy them with friends
and family.
Just to warm up: a very easy-to-make but delicious recipe:
Macaroni of the Alps.
Cook the macaroni ‘al dente’.
Melt a little butter, brown some chopped onions with ham cubes and cooked
diced potatoes.
Add two handfuls of cooked macaroni per person.
Mix everything with a bit of cream. Season to taste with salt, pepper
and nutmeg.
To end , pour the mixture in an ovenproof dish, sprinkle with grated gruyère
and cream. Put in the oven to brown.

are more than fifty different varieties of wine in Wallis, which is really
exceptional.
A lot are typical of Wallis, but only eight can be called native, that
is originating in the ‘Old Land’. We are talking about the
Amigne, precious to the village Vétroz, the Arvine, the king of
the white wines, the Cornalin, the white Humagne, the Durize, the Rèze
and the two hauts-valaisans : Himbertscha and Lafnetscha.
